Author of “Oh, Beautiful” Memoir to Appear at L.A. Times Festival of Books
AUTHOR JOHN PAUL GODGES will be signing and selling copies of his family memoir, Oh, Beautiful: An American Family in the 20th Century, at the 2011 L.A. Times Festival of Books this coming Saturday and Sunday, April 30 and May 1, at the University of Southern California near downtown Los Angeles.
Godges will be exhibiting his book and chatting away with Angelenos about everything from what keeps a family together to what makes for the good life in America. “I love hearing about other people’s family stories and how they echo, and sometimes overlap with, my own. Writing this book has shown me that we all have so much more in common with each other than we often realize,” he said.
At the festival, Godges will sign and sell the book for an easy, flat fee of 20 smackers. He will appear both days in booth 099, hosted by the Book Publicists of Southern California. Booth 099 will be located near the center of campus, on Trousdale Parkway just east of Founders Park.
The festival will run from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. Saturday and from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. Sunday. Admission is free.
